Indian Nationals Travelers

Alluring Bhutan Travels has classified Indian tourist into three classes, High, Classic & Premium class. Based on your tour package selection, we will work on it.

Entry into Bhutan Can be made by through Air/Surface Transport. Druk Air & Bhutan Airlines are the only airlines operating into Bhutan. It operates regular flights to/from Paro (Bhutan) to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Gaya, Bagdogra, Gawahati, (India). The only int. airport in Bhutan is in Paro, it’s advisable to book your air tickets in advance to avoid rush in Tourist reason.

By Surface: It is possible to entry Bhutan through surface transports, By Phuentsholing (Bhutan south - west border town to India). We do Pick-up/Drop from Bagdogra Airport (IXB), New Japaiguri Rly Station (NJP), New Alipurdaur Rly Station, Hashimara Rly station & Siliguri. Phuentsholing town is convenient point for tourist to visit region of Darjeeling, Kalimpong and state of Sikkim. We can also entry Bhutan through Samdrup Jongkher (Bhutan south-eastern border town to India) and Gelephu (southern Bhutan border town to India).

Entry Permit: Indian Nationals travelling to Bhutan do not require visa.

  • An identity document such as Passport OR Election commission I.D cards only accepted
  • Two Nos of latest passport size photographs.
  • Students such as School/College I.D card only accepted
  • Minor & child such as Original Birth certificate only accepted

An affidavit letter from Supreme Court is needed for those who fail and don’t have any of the above documents.

Route Permit: Route Permit is required for those travelling to restricted areas beyond Dochula pass. It is processed & issued from Thimphu only after arrival in Bhutan, during working days (Monday-Friday, 09 am – 04 pm).

Time, Climate & Clothes: Bhutan is half an hour ahead of IST (Indian Standard Time). Bhutan’s climate is provably moderate with slight changes from place to place, during night time it will be bit freezing. Cotton clothes are sufficient for May to till September, plus a woolen sweater or light jacket is required. We need very warm clothes and Comfortable warm shoes from beginning of November to the end of April.

Food and Accommodation: Bhutanese cuisine is rich with spicy chilies and cheese. Most of the Bhutanese hotels and restaurant offer delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian, Chinese, Continental and Bhutanese cuisine. we have only selected the list of best Indian tourist hotels, resorts and guesthouses with the best location, comfort and services.

Transportation and Communication: We always provide imported Luxury comfortable and well maintained Japanese Toyota car and Korean Hyundai car with well experienced drivers having Professional driving license (PD). Mobile/Phone call from Bhutan is 50% cheaper than calling from India. The country code is + 975.

Guide: we will only arrange Bhutan Govt licensed Bhutanese guide with fluent English & Hindi speaking.

Security and Customs: Bhutan is known as one the peaceful and safeties destination in the world. Bhutanese people are very warm, helpful and religious minded. All visitors are required to complete a customs form upon arrival and hand over to concerned authorities. Personal electronic devices are permitted with authorities’ checkup. Bhutan is the first country to ban tobacco consumption, but visitors are allowed with maximum personal consumption as below:

  • Cigarettes: 1 carton of 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars.
  • Pipe tobacco: 3 tins of 50 grams each.
  • Other tobacco products: 50 grams.

Import and Export of following goods are strictly prohibited:

  • Arms, ammunitions, explosives and military stores
  • All narcotics and drugs except medically prescribed drugs
  • Wildlife products, especially those of endangered species
  • Antiques

visitors are advised to be cautious in purchasing of various Bhutanese Products, it’s strictly prohibited without a clearance certificate. The visitors may seek Tour Company’s help and advice before committing to such purchases.

Currency: The Bhutanese currency, Ngultrum (Nu.) value is equivalent to Indian Rupee (Rs), Bhutanese ATM rarely accept Visa cards and maestro card. Indian Rupees are acceptable all over Bhutan.

Payments procedure: 30 % of Total Tour Cost to be paid in ADVANCE for Booking Confirmation & rest 70% Total Tour cost to be paid before tour commencement.
